21 Day Fast – Day 6

This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies. Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. – Galatians 5:16-21

One of the biggest day to day challenges of being a Christian is living an illuminated life in which you let your light shine with the passion of the Holy Spirit. There are no days off from being a Christian, or being a part of any religion because religion is about commitment. The fruits of the Spirit are a key guide on how to live your life in the Holy Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Honestly speaking, I am not anywhere near patient, at times I can appear gentle, and shopping just constantly tests my self-control. So, we can all use a little help here and there. Being a Christian takes a lot of work, that’s why we should pray everyday that we are guided in the way of the Spirit, but with that said we must also do our own part. People always say “you are what you eat” and on a social and spiritual level, we are what we surround ourselves with so surround yourself with positive influences. 🙂
